JED Commander tours construction site, Okinawa
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Japan District Commander Col. John Hurley was briefed on the status of construction for Ryukyu Elementary School at Kadena Air Base, Japan during a site visit Feb. 11. The 195,000 square-foot facility will replace Bob Hope Primary and Amelia Earhart Intermediate schools. Its will be the largest U.S. elementary school on the island, servicing approximately 840 students. The project is scheduled for completion in fall 2016.
